Meet The Team

At Little Cherubs, we carefully select our practitioners for their compassion, passion, patience, warmth and consistency, as well as their understanding of the developing and ever-changing physical, emotional and intellectual needs of the children in their care.

We have a strict recruitment process, whereby all our staff are vetted to meet the stringent Ofsted requirements.

Staff Training

At Little Cherubs, we ensure that all staff attend regular and relevant training courses. Most of our training comes from the Redbridge Training Programme, however, we also use external agencies for group training sessions. In order to see what training we require, we carry out regular staff supervisions and make observations on staff and look for areas of improvement. All our staff have up-to-date basic training (Food and Hygiene, allergens and Core Safeguarding) which is updated annually. There is at least one paediatric first Aider in each room at all times.

Please see our staff board at the nursery with our staff’s qualifications, roles and languages spoken by them.

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

At Little Cherubs, we follow the SEND’s Code of Practice (2015) - the graduated approach - which is a continuous cycle of assessing a child’s needs, planning to meet those needs, implementing appropriate plans, reviewing its effectiveness, and adjusting as required to ensure each child has the best outcomes.

Our nursery has a Special Education Needs co-ordinator (SENCo) and two deputy SENCOs. Our SENCO’s work closely with our Redbridge Early Years Special Educational Needs Support Service (EYSENDSS) to ensure that any children with identifiable additional needs and their families are fully supported. This can involve making appropriate health referrals, further targeted support from our staff, signposting and/or ongoing advice from our designated local authority Area SENCo.

At every stage of the graduated approach, it is important to us that we work closely with parents to support the child to develop, progress well and make successful transitions to the next stage on their learning journey. Our friendly staff will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
